Today I had my blood work done because I have a Dr. appointment on Mon. or Tues. ( forget which). I always call the MD office a week ahead and tell them what I want. I don't want to forget any because I DONT want to go back in three months. Going every 6 mos is enough trouble. It 's amazing to me that most people my age actually think they should go for a check up every three months the only reason the DR's want that is because they now get paid for it. A few years ago it was every six months. Ugh that is way too often unless I'm really sick. In fact last year I was really sick and I had been for a ,physical two weeks before . I had mentioned some pain too. and that's why I only go twice a year unless I am sick.
I spent the rest of the day gathering material to put my land up for sale. My friend used something called, FrontPage to sell her land. She owned 100 acres in Va and sold it via the internet . Than I called my son Steve and he said to send him everything and he will put it together for me. I am shocked and happy.
Tomorrow is babysitting day.

Betty I can't imagine calling my Doctor and telling him what I want. I usually go in and he tells me. I agree that once every six months is fine to see your Doctor. Now that my problems are on the right tract I hope to go back to once a year unless I'm sick. I have a couple of f/u appts but after that I hope I am free from appoints.
I don't know if I mentioned but this is the second bladder surgery I had. The first guy had me coming back every month for over a year asking me the same questions. Finally I just stopped going. This guy is just the opposite, instead of a month visit he made it for four. I want to make a appt in a few days as I have questions I want answered. I feel great but the UI is still bad and I would like meds for it.

I only call them so I don't have to go in again. Sometimes I just add the code #s to the lab sheet. Than I don't have to call them. HO HO. In Hospice we could write orders so I guess I am just use to it.

Betty,
I always tell him what I want for the same reason. I don't go back for routine f/u unless I think it's indicated e.g. getting B/P med regulated etc. We stopped taking Rich to the Cardiologist cause he wasn't doing diddly...routine EKG which the primary could just as well do.
I love that you add the code #s..I did that once when I thought he missed something.
