Today, Carolyn and the kids and I went to the Museum of Natural History. They were having a talk on the stars at the planetarium . Finn and I were there while Carolyn took Claire around the place. It was interesting. Tuesday night the space station can been seen in the sky and on Wed. there is going to be a total eclipse. So much for the science lesson.
When I got home I had a call from my life-long friend Pat Kennedy Hayes. She called to say her 1st husband Jim Hayes had died. He is the father of her four children. I was their Maid of Honor. Even thou the marriage did not take I still feel sad. He had lots of demons, but was a nice guy.
He was a intern at ACH when we worked there.

I can understand feeling sad. I met Jim when Lois Wimberg took Nancy Keeler and me to visit Pat ....I think in Sacramento...probably in 1961 or '62. Nancy and I were living in SF. I remember the visit, but that's all. I did not know him at ACH. I'm sure Pat has mixed emotions as well. Sad time for the whole family.

I meant to comment yesterday. I laughed so hard when Finn told you "I do" responding to your "I don't think I look that old". That really broke me up.

I remember Jim well when he and Pat and family lived in Yardley. I'm sorry to hear about his death. If I'm not mistaken, he was able to get his life together--I hope he had a happy one.
Incidentally, I still don't have my computer back; Mike still has it. Am typing this at the library. BIG NEWS: Ellen's offer on the condo was accepted! We're thrilled--two story (more of a townhouse, I guess) with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2-car garage, and garden. It's in the complex where she wanted to live; next to the (dry) river.
