I'm still sick, but better than yesterday.
Pat, you are right about getting rid of a cold takes a week no matter what you do for it.
I swear at least 10 people have asked me if I went to the doctors! When I tell them no they act like I am nuts. I tell them the real cure for a cold, (7-10 days) and then I have to hear how some doctor gave them antibiotics and they got better. Of course that would have happened anyway.
I am about all packed for Florida. I am going to LA tomorrow as my plane leaves at 6:30 am on Wed. Than on Friday its off to Disney World.
I'll try to Blog during my trip.

I have been sick with a bad cold these last few days. Friday and yesterday I did not get out of bed. My head was throbbing , nose was running and I have a hacking cough. I have not been sick like this for years.
I feel better today ,so I hope I can make it to Fla. Ugh! I hate to be sick.
Also went out to my car to day and had a flat tire. I'll deal with it later. Well, its back to bed for me.

I had a great day today. I went to Ventura to meet a friend for lunch, but first I went to the .99 cent store. It is a really big place. Sells everything even produce, clothes, toys, cleaning supplies etc. I spent $67.00! I wont need cleaning stuff or canned goods for a really long time.
I came home and made baked fresh vegetables. Asparagus . squash, potatoes,carrots,onions and garlic. All bought at the .99 cent place. NOTHING in the store is over that price. I love it.

This computer is driving me NUTS!!!! It is so slow every time I try to go to another site it takes about 20 mins. NO LIE!
Wes is trying to help me but he could not even log into my computer. I ran some virus program last night. It took 9 hours than it said it could not open!!!! EEK< UGH...So Wes told me to buy a program called, "McAfee" I went to Circuit City, bought it for $39.00 and it ran for 8 hours. Now my computer takes longer than ever. Wes will try to check in on my computer tomorrow. I hope.
Other than that,Carolyn and I took Claire to ,"Polar Bear". It's a store that is up scale used baaby things. She bought her a sweet little blue velvet Christmas dress, Than we went to Payless and got her cute little red Maryjanes. They are going to a Christmas party in LA this weekend. It was started about 60 years ago by Dana's dad and some of his college friends. This year will be sort of sad because of how sick his dad is now.

Today I really did get some things done.
I wrapped AND mailed the Christmas gifts for Wes and family. They are the only ones I have to ship this year and I will be in Fl next week. Than I went to the bank and got some things done. Also cleaned up a little.
I went with Carolyn and Claire to pick up Finn at school. His class had built (out of cardboard) a big boat that they are now, "sailing" around the world. The map is on the board and they use little boats to mark their path. When they stop at a country they than learn some things about that country. Each kid can pick a country and of course, Finn picked his favorite, Egypt.

Today is the first day of Hanukkah and I sent a little poem by email to Dexter. I hope he gets it. My computer is acting up again.

Yesterday, I realized I only hve a week before I go to Florida and I have NOTHING done for Christmas, sooooo, I went shopping for Wes and family as I have to mail theirs . We are having very strict rules for buying this year. Buying only for the children and keeping each gift under $20.00. I went to Ross and found a really cute little castle that talks, plays music etc. I went to lunch with, Kitty Glanz , a friend from Hospice. She is still there, a Social Worker. She really a nice person, she was a hippie in the 60's. Married another Hippie who became a MD and worked in the ER and the hospital until he retired last year. Now he is a DJ on a Blues station in SB. He loves his new job.
Last evening Carolyn, Dana, the kids and I went to a fund raiser for Willbridge House. Its an organization that has two houses for the homeless. They had Gospel singing that was beautiful, two men who live at the home spoke and they had a silent auction. I bid on lots of things but only won a men's shaving set. I must have gotten it mixed up with another bid. Dana is the Board-Chair for the organization. This is the third year I have gone, it was a great night.

I have not blogged for so long because I don't have much to say.
I went to lunch one day with Sarah, my old neighbor. She moved to Carpindaria (sp). We walked down to the beach after lunch. It was the first time I have been there. Very nice. Their,( Sarah and her old High School boyfriend, Sonny) house is nice but right near the railroad tracks.

Next day I took Claire to the grocery store. She really liked seeing all the Christmas stuff. She now can let us know just what she wants, but does not talk. she says, "mama,Dada, Nana, more and that". /she is cute.

I did things like that all week.
Today, Carolyn, Dana and Finn went to see,"The Nutcracker" while I watched Claire. ( finn hated it!).
Than we all went to a memorial service which is sponsored by Hospice of Santa Barbara, not to be confused with Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Santa Barbara. I had donated to the cause by buying stars to hang on the tree. I bought one for Jay and one for Wes. Finn and Carolyn put them on the tree. There was a little service, it was nice. Afterwards we went to Rubys for dinner.

We got back to Santa Barbara about 5PM.
Had a great time.
On Thanksgiving we first went to Mark and Alyson's house in Pasadena. He is Dana's brother. They have a beautiful big two story house. I had a room and bath on the first floor and Carolyn and Dana stayed in a little guest house in the rear. So we were all very comfortable.
Dinner was at the older Gamble's neighbors. I have been to their home before because for the last about 40 years they have traded with the Gambles. There were 16 people at the meal. Dana's parents are both very sick, especially his father who is now on total dialysis. He is always tired and can hardly get around.
ON Friday Mark, Alyson, Matthew (4yrs old), Grace (18 mos) and D,C, F and Claire ,took the train ,"downtown" to Alvarado Street. Alvarado Street is about three blocks long and is like old Mexico. All kinds of open shops etc. We went to a little restaurant where Robyn and Dexter met us for lunch. After about three hours we took the train back to Pasadena. The kids loved the whole thing. So did the adults. We had pizza and watched football last night.
Today I visited with Dana's parents while Carolyn and Dana did some shopping and chores for them. It was a great weekend.

Today I remembered I had not yet made Nana Mix! I take it to the Gambles every Thanksgiving. Put it in a special container and when they next come to visit they return the container with fresh fruit from their fruit trees.
Well here is what happened to day....
At 7am I went to the store for the ingredients.
Made two batches in the oven and decided to make one in the microwave. I have never made it in the micro before. Well I put it in a microwaveable bowl...or at least I thought it was microwaveable. It wasn't! It smoked up my whole kitchen. I quickly picked up the bowl, which had a hole in the bottom and tossed it into a trash bag. Plastic of course, so it burnt a hole in the trash bag too. I think I will stick to the oven method.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

Robyn and Dexter came up to visit on Monday and stayed until last night.
HE IS SO ADORABLE! He just smiles and coos all day long. a real sweet heart.
We had such a nice time. On Monday we went to ,"Polar Bear", a wonderful store in Santa Barbara where all kinds of kids things are sold cheap. Some are on consignment. Robyn got about 4 little outfits for less than $20.00. The Gambles came for dinner and Claire was so cute with Dexter. She kept patting him . She was very gentle. Yesterday we went to,"replay" a used toy shop.
I am so lucky that my DIL likes to come up to visit with Dexter. She comes up almost every month for a couple of days.

Today Carolyn and I took Finn,Aidan and Claire to the Natural History Center. The boys had a great time and Claire spent most of the day pushing her own stroller. She thinks that is the purpose of strollers.
After that I came home and watched football. Now New England is winning 56 to 10! I am pretty sure they play the Eagles next week. EE K!!

Finn and I went to bed at 10pm, Claire woke up at 11:30. She was not up too long and slept until 6:30 am.
this morning I took them to Cody's for breakfast. Its a neat little restaurant that I have been taking Finn to since he was four months old. Claire ate a whole kids breakfast, Finn about 1/2.
Than we went to my house so Finn could play some of my computer games. Got back to their house about 11am and Claire slept for two hours. I cleaned up the house a little. Made them lunch, cheeseburgers and applesauce. Than we went for another walk. Carolyn and Dana came home about 3pm., niece Maureen and Aiden came about 4pm. She is 8 months pg. looks great. Dana made tri tip steak for dinner. Both Dana and Maureen had birthdays this week. The boys, Finn and Aiden had a great time. I came home about 8PM and I am going to bed!

I again have had trouble posting to both this Blog and my other on.
I am going to put this one on both Blogs to see if they both come out.
Well, anyway I minded Finn and Claire for a WHOLE 24 HOURS! It was Dana's birthday. They went to a nice resort about two hours away. They said they had a great time. First time away together since Claire's birth.
Here some of the things I did..
Took them to the hospital so I could get my flu shot., left my purse in the room, went back to get it ,got back to the car and Claire was missing a shoe. We went back in hospital to look for it but could not find it, got back to the car and it was under the wheel. Then I took them a long way to the cheap ($3.67 per gallon) gas station, but the line was so long I just went back to their house and took them for a walk around the back. I made dinner of mac and cheese, veggies and fruit. Claire ate everything, Finn not so much. Tried to put Claire to bed at 7PM which is her bedtime. She finally went down at 8:30. Finn and I watched game shows on TV, he loves them. (MORE LATER).

Norma has the same car. She hit the curb and claims that caused all of her problems, even tho she had the problems BEFORE she hit the curb.
I don't know why she has to take the driving test again. I knw it has nothing to do with the accident. No police, no insurance etc.
Nothing is going on here. Went to church and breakfast with Judy Smith. I worked with her at Hospice and she is the hospital Discharge Planner who was so good to me.
I will see the Oncologist on Tues. to get the lowdown on the NEG PET scan.

I spent the day.
Went to be with Claire while Carolyn went to the store.
Finn's class went to see a play today and than did not have school, so one of his friends and her mom were coming for lunch.
Than I took Norma to get her hair cut. I got my done too. Looks okay.
She sprang for lunch because I am only going to lunch once a week and I am taking the RN (a friend) who called me to tell me the good news, out to lunch on Friday.
Than she asked me to print out the driving test from the DMV because she has to take the test again. Stay off the streets if she gets her license back.
Than I WEnt back to watch Claire because Finn, Varolyn and Dana had to go to Finn's school for his ,"review". He came out with lying colors of course.
Tonight I ain't doin noting!

GOOD NEWS!
My PET scan was negative. Yeah, yeah.
I don't really have any details yet but I am so happy. I have been worrying about this since I got the results of the cat scan on July 2nd.
I see the Oncologist on the 13th.
Didn't do much else.
I did just spend an hour trying to get pictures on my Blogs. Seems I now have 3 blogs. Hoho, the last one is called BettysPagetwo-ebj. I don't think the pictures every came up. Any way it is way too much trouble.

Today I had my PET scan. It went well but, I don't know when I will get the results.
Went over to Carolyn' after the test and we went for a long walk with Finn and Claire.
Yesterday I watched Claire and Finn while C&D went wine tasting. It was in the area where the movie, Sideways was filmed. They had a good time. I watched all my teams lose in football! I heard Pat Molloy yelling at Donovan all the way out here.
I don't have anything else to say.
I'll try to write back tomorrow.

Today, Carolyn, Finn, Claire and I went to ,"The Bunny Exhibit" at the Court House. It was a fund raiser for rabbit people. It was nuts., about a hundred people with their rabbits. You could feed bunny for 1 ticket. (thickets were 75 cents each), rabbit races, get your picture with a rabbit kissing you, etc. Finn loved it and even Claire had fun running around.
That is the only thing I did today.

I don't know about this new blog! It has not gotten in the last two times I wrote. Hope this one makes it,evenif there is not much to say.
This morning Carolyn, Claire and I went to a gigantic rummage sale. It was at this church where Carolyn's neighbor send their son to Pre school. We bought a cute Little Tykes Kitchen for Claire. It is so cute, a sink, stove etc. It goes in the backyard. Also got some other stings for Finn and Claire. Happy to say I did not drag anything into my house. Yeah, yeah.
I again walked home from Carolyn's. It is just about a mile.
Nothing else is going on.

I did not post yesterday because I minded Claire and Finn for TWELVE HOURS!!!
Carolyn and Dana were painting their living room and than had a party.
I took them out to lunch at Coty's. I have been taking Finn there since he was four months old.
Than we came back to my house where Finn played the computer. He picked up a disc and said,"can I play this one, it says, 100 educational games". He just picked it up and read it. No bad for six years old.
Claire made a big mess of all of my computer discs but, it kept her out of trouble. She is 16 months old today.
I was exhausted when I got home at 12 mid.
Today Judy and I went to church and out to lunch. I worked with her at Hospice, now she is a discharge planner at the hospital. She told me how they need part time DC Planners. I did call Meditech and tell them I was ready ,willing and able to come back to work. I heard they laid off Milanda. Hooray.
I am going to dinner at Carolyn's. Dana is making a pork dish.

I put my house in Ventnor up for rent on Craig's list last night. Got one reply so far,but I think they want to be nearer to NYC.
Went shopping for food today. I am not going out to eat now because I can't afford it.
Today is Wes's 43rd birthday. Hard to believe all that time has passed. I called him to wish him the best and he told me that Katy, Miranda and he were going out to dinner.
Nothing else going on.

Today I spent the whole day helping my friend, Norma. She is really losing it and was so upset over her,"appointments" . Doctors, Labs, Pt and on and on. Half of them are not necessary. Ie going to get blood work done at two labs for the same thing. "Well two different doctors ordered them". Duh.
Than I went to pick up Finn and one of his little schoolmates mom was in a terrible accident. She is on a ventilator in ICU. Apparently her car went over a cliff. Her brother is caring for her two kids. She wrote the movies, Glitter and Barbershop. Her car went over a cliff.

My 50 year reunion was so much fun. There were 56 in the class. 6 have died and 29 showed up. We had lots of old pictures to share and of course the crazy times when we were young and stupid.
Pat, Bobbi and Carol Murphy say hello and Bobbie told the story about how they met you. We had a hospitality room until 11Pm and took full advantage. It was great. I don't remember any Dr. France but he was not there.

HELLO AGAIN !

Hello to all!!
I am happy to say I have a blog again!!!
I don't know what happened to my other one, but I could not get it to post.

I think everyone knows that my colonoscopy came up fine. No bleeding and no ca.
I thank God everyday I am still alive.

Robyn and Dexter came to visit yesterday and today we , Carolyn,Finn and Claire went to the pumpkin patch. It was so fun. Dexter is getting so cute. He is very alert and good, sleeps all night and eats and smiles all the time.
I took some pictures and I am going to try to get some on here in a day or two.
