I had a great day today. I went to Ventura to meet a friend for lunch, but first I went to the .99 cent store. It is a really big place. Sells everything even produce, clothes, toys, cleaning supplies etc. I spent $67.00! I wont need cleaning stuff or canned goods for a really long time.
I came home and made baked fresh vegetables. Asparagus . squash, potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic. All bought at the .99 cent place. NOTHING in the store is over that price. I love it.

I've been to that store with Ellen, Bet. Wish our dollar stores had produce, but they don't. Santori's stuff is considerably cheaper than the supermarkets (and I think it moves faster, so is fresher),but not that low. Those veggies you made sound delish!

Betty,
They do sound good and healthy too.
Do you add any seasonings other than the garlic and onions?

We've been grilling asparagus and onions, but I do sprinkle olive oil on them and they are delicious too. I could save some calories without the oil, but it does add some tastiness..now we put some balsamic in with the oil and yum, yum.

I'm going to try the baked version.

I do add spices. I did these in some Worchestershire Sauce, garlic, and Chinese five spices.(cinnamon, anise, fennel, ginger&cloves)
