We got back to Santa Barbara about 5PM.
Had a great time.
On Thanksgiving we first went to Mark and Alyson's house in Pasadena. He is Dana's brother. They have a beautiful big two story house. I had a room and bath on the first floor and Carolyn and Dana stayed in a little guest house in the rear. So we were all very comfortable.
Dinner was at the older Gamble's neighbors. I have been to their home before because for the last about 40 years they have traded with the Gambles. There were 16 people at the meal. Dana's parents are both very sick, especially his father who is now on total dialysis. He is always tired and can hardly get around.
ON Friday Mark, Alyson, Matthew (4yrs old), Grace (18 mos) and D,C, F and Claire ,took the train ,"downtown" to Alvarado Street. Alvarado Street is about three blocks long and is like old Mexico. All kinds of open shops etc. We went to a little restaurant where Robyn and Dexter met us for lunch. After about three hours we took the train back to Pasadena. The kids loved the whole thing. So did the adults. We had pizza and watched football last night.
Today I visited with Dana's parents while Carolyn and Dana did some shopping and chores for them. It was a great weekend.

Your Thanksgiving and weekend sound like a lot of fun! I remember going to Alvarado Street years ago--maybe one of the first times I was in California. I still have some postcards I got there depicting "the day of the dead."

You California kids sure do know how to have a good time.
Us East coast girls can only wish we were there.
